From youth_hs_list at rolumc.com Sat Jul 5 11:03:45 2008 From: youth_hs_list at rolumc.com (ROL Youth High School Newsletter) Date: Sat, 5 Jul 2008 11:03:45 -0400 Subject: [Youth_HS_List] ROLY News Message-ID: All, This week we are getting ready to go to Macon. I hope everyone has been organizing their tools and things. More on that to come. Sunday, we will be tie-dying t-shirts for the Macon trip. Everyone going to Macon should try to be there. All of the youth will be able to tie-dye a shirt. I will be giving out a copy of the rules and a rough schedule for the week. We will tie-dye all of the shirts. If you are not there, your shirt will be the colors and pattern chosen. We will also have some shirts for those not going on the trip. The cost for the shirts are $7. If you are going on the Macon trip, they are paid for with the trip. If you are not going to Macon, a donation will cover the costs. We will start tie-dying soon after the picnic. I am eager to see what people can come up with. *Macon Info* Attached is a tools list. It is the same list that was provided earlier. We need to get all of the tools at the proportion listed. We have 22 people going to Macon. Gloves and other items may be more personally tailored, but some items are generic. There is a bucket at the back of the church if anyone would like to donate tools. If you would like the tools back, please mark your name on the tool and color code it according to the chart. As for logistics, we will leave the church around 8:30am on Wednesday. We must be in Macon between 1 and 4pm. It is better to get there earlier to get the choicest sleeping spots on the floor. ;o) Bring an air mattress or a very soft sleeping bag. We will be returning after the worship service on Sunday. I estimate we will be back in town by 6pm. We have a great group going, again, this year. It is the largest group we have ever taken. I am very excited about the week. Do not forget to bring clothes you do not mind getting messed up. We will be working in some rough conditions for the week. Jeans may be called for on many jobs. The rules will describe more of what to pack. Please make every effort to be at church on Sunday (one service 10:30am). There will be no other youth activities this week or next Sunday. If some of the parents would like to pull the rising 6th and 7th graders together for a small mission trip to either the Betty Griffin House or elsewhere, that would be a great event to conincide with the Macon trip. Let me know Sunday if you are interested. I hope everyone is having a great Summer. Peace, David -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
